Flat Jannah in Pennsylvania, USA !

Flat Jannah is staying with two lovely little home-schooled boys on a farm in Pennsylvania USA, here what she has been up to so far:

"We are getting the field ready for planting.  We planted rye at the end of last year's crop to help the soil & now we must plow it under.  Next week she'll help us plant corn, watermelon, pumpkins, popcorn, cantaloupe, green beans, peas, cucumbers & peppers."

"She's in the strawberry patch now!  

This flower needs to be pollinated before it can turn into a yummy strawberry.

We've seen a lot of bees so we know they've been working hard in our garden!"

"Here she is hanging out on an asparagus plant!"

"This is our dalmatian, Sully.  He just turned 10 years old & his favorite snack is carrots! I don't know if you can tell, but he has two different colored eyes: blue & brown.​"

"Hershey, Pennsylvania: The Sweetest Place on Earth.  It's about 45 minutes from our house.

This was taken from the car - the building in the background is the state police academy.  The front lawn has white lettering that reads: Welcome to Hershey."

"Here we are on the factory tour at Chocolate World. I'm sorry its blurry - but this was the best one out of all the pictures we took of Jannah.  The cows are singing the Chocolate World theme song.  You even get a mini candy bar at the end of the tour!  "

Flat Tasnim in New-Zealand!

Flat Tasnim has travelled down under, to the other side of the world, in Kiwiland, here what she has been up to so far :)

Flat Tasnim est arrivée au moment de la récolte des kiwis, ca rappelle des souvenirs à "Maman".

Flat Stanley in Morocco !

So Pennsylvanian Flat Stanley followed us on holiday to Morocco (Marrakesh and Essaouira on the coast), here are the wonderful things he saw:

An ordinary busy street in Marrakesh.

The Majorelle Garden, a twelve-acre botanical garden and artist's landscape garden in Marrakech, Morocco. It was designed by the expatriate French artist Jacques Majorelle in the 1920s and 1930s, during the colonial period when Morocco was a protectorate of France.

A riad is a traditional Moroccan house or palace with an interior garden or courtyard. The word riad comes from the Arabian term for garden, "ryad".

The "souk" of Marrakesh. A souk or souq is an open-air marketplace or commercial quarter in Middle Eastern and North African cities.The equivalent Persian term is "bazaar".

Morocco is well-known for leather crafts, called "maroquinerie" in French.

Dried dates, apricots and others fruit, as well as all kind of nuts.

The Menara gardens are gardens located to the west of Marrakech, Morocco, at the gates of the Atlas mountains. They were built in the 12th century (c. 1130) by the Almohad ruler Abd al-Mu'min.

Traditional Berber jewellery, the Berbers are the ethnicity indigenous to North Africa west of the Nile Valley.

Jamaa el fna is a square and market place in Marrakesh's medina quarter (old city). It remains the main square of Marrakesh, used by locals and tourists.

At night, Jamaa el fna the square fills with dozens of food-stalls as the number of people on the square peaks.

On the road to Essaouira, on the Atlantic coast, Flat Stanley saw goats on the trees!! These are argan trees, which are endemic to the region. Their fruit (almond-like nut) is used to produce oil, used for cooking as well as cosmetics. Argan or "Moroccan" oil is becoming very well-known and popular in Europe.

Essaouira, is a touristic and fishing port located on the Atlantic coast, on the other side of the ocean is Florida :)

Did you notice the traditional Moroccan outfit called the Djellaba? It is worn by men and women alike.

Morocco is also very well-known for the traditional colourful Berber rugs.

In Essouira, you buy your fish fresh, and the restaurant cook it for you! Yummy!

A mosque minaret (tower), Islam is the main religion of Morocco, but you can also find synagogues ans churches, all 3 religions live peacefully together there.
